A severe trauma: creeping ...

Hi everyone!
This time I want to share with you a case in which it was necessary to apply one of the ways to "make the process smoother" with EFT , when the intensity of the trauma or emotions are very large linked.
Teresa (not her real name) consulted me for a posttraumatic stress situation. recounted an ordeal in which the middle of the night he suffered an assault on his home by six armed and masked.
She and her husband were handcuffed and threatened with death for one hell of an hour and a half, which reviewed all his house. Apparently thieves sought a large sum of money that Teresa and her husband had, which further angered the criminals, leading to a gun placed in the mouth of Teresa to force her husband to reveal the location of the alleged money.
Finally, the ordeal ended when the robbers appeared to accept the reality that money does not exist (Teresa believes that strayed from home), then left taking all valuables they could find, including the order of marriage. The trauma experienced
Teresa generated in several problems. Emotional instability prevented her from working, could not stay at home for the night and each time I left I thought everything was strange that he passed a crook stalking.
started a few rounds "light", working on the penalty for items lost in the robbery that had sentimental value. He also appeared anger at the injustice he felt that these people had been taken at a time when many home items that cost much effort and time to achieve.
This was easing a bit the feeling of discomfort and helped her relax.
Noticing his hand, asked if he felt something try to remember to think about that episode again theft. I explained I just wanted to think about the possibility to review (without doing it yet) . Replied that think only about the idea a bit worried, although it was very annoying. We evaluated a 4 .
work with the phrase:
"Despite this concern to think that happened, I accept and love myself ..."

With a round the concern disappeared and then proposed to evaluate what I felt at the thought of the episode in general, without elaborating. Feelings and images appeared related to a fear hoods and night. Here the intensity was somewhat higher: 6 . Therefore
:
"Despite the fear of the night and the hoods, I accept and love myself ..."

The first round intensity dropped to 3 and the second was complete relief on this issue.
advanced a little more exploring the memory of that terrible night and was able to get important details while maintaining a very serene mood. He up the emotional intensity noting the time it was directly threatened with a gun in your mouth. Here again the number was 6 .
"Despite the anguish I feel, remembering that moment, I accept and love myself ..."

round ended with this sentence, and before we returned to evaluate the intensity, Teresa added that warned now that also suffered at the thought that if they shot may not die but may be left with terrible consequences, as much physical pain and disability. Remember that aspect maintained the intensity of anxiety in 6 .
"Despite the anxiety about it may have suffered disability and pain, I accept and love myself ..."

This issue took two rounds to complete relief.
Teresa's case has several interesting facets and possibly other input discuss some other issues, but this time I want to emphasize that the use of this form of "sneak up to the problem" (as he called Gary Craig) allowed this patient boarded a very traumatic episode not exceeded at any time of 6 levels of intensity, quite tolerable .

is generally intended as specific as possible with details of the episode mobilizing emotion, in order to make more effective the application of the technique. But in cases like that we're seeing, is preferable to start addressing the situation more vague and general , so going to evolve "layers of intensity" , gently until details that otherwise might have Teresa overwhelmed balance.

you soon.
