The Ministry of Promotion through Adif has already started assembling the track in the stretch between Caudete (Albacete) and access to Alicante from the High Speed \u200b\u200bLine.
The beginning of this work, involving an investment of over 21.1 million euros, representing a new impetus to the high speed line to Alicante, whose commissioning is scheduled for 2012.
The section has a length greater than 65 km, which run through the municipality of Caudete Alicante and the towns of Villena, Sax, Salinas, Elda, Novelda, Monforte del Cid and August, reaching the capital.
Description of work.
The first performances have included the establishment of networks of topography, the distribution of ties with the platform and the implementation of stockpiles of ballast or stone material, among other operations.
As of today, have already implemented the five intermediate ballast stockpiles, located in the towns of Villena (13,700 m2), Sax (16,600 m2), Novelda (11,300 m2), Monforte del Cid (17,000 m2) and Alicante (9,500 m2), from which it will distribute the placement of ballast along the track.

These operations are carried out by specialized machinery from the mounting base Monforte del Cid, which occupies an area of \u200b\u200bapproximately 6 hectares. The mounting base, which is connected with the new High Speed \u200b\u200bLine and the line of conventional wide-Alicante La Encina, concentrates the discharge, collection and transfer of material and assembly of the track.
